The Monolithic House, the creative apartment located in the southern Italy, is published by Blog.Gessato.
“Called the Monolithic House, this apartment by the Italian architecture firm Brain Factory is built around a large block. The stone expanse is inspired by the nearby landmark of Pollino, a massif mountain in Castrovillari, Italy. Functionally, the block partially separates the kitchen and breakfast nook from the main living and dining room. This makes the kitchen feel more private and cozy and lets the lounge area seem all the more effortlessly chic with its long white sofa and metallic pendant lighting. The block is visually defined by black lines, which echo the dark graphics of the alphabet hallway, and the same outlined stone is used for the pillar by the entrance. Additionally, the unit features built-in shelving crafted from wood and naturally finished in a warm shade of brown. Beyond the block, the interior design is rather delicate in appearance. Butterflies adorn the sliding glass doors, and Swarovski crystals stud the tile walls. Rounding out the contemporary-earthy look of the apartment, the lighter elements show that nature is not all trees and mountains; insects and raindrops are organic and inspiring as well.”- author: HOLLY MITCHELL
