Ci sono ferite che possono essere visibili a tutti sulla nostra pelle altre che restano nell’animo di ciascuno di noi. La maggior parte di esse guarisce, lasciando solo cicatrici, ma alcune non guariscono, le portiamo con noi ovunque, e anche se si sono rimarginate da tempo, diventano tratto distintivo, “mappa” della nostra esistenza. Quei segni “casuali e sgraziati” diventano parte di noi rendendoci unici; con la stessa filosofia, la cultura millenaria Giapponese era solita, secondo la tecnica del Kintsugi, riparare le ceramiche per la cerimonia del tè grazie all’utilizzo della lacca urushi impreziosita dalla polvere d’oro, cercando non più di nascondere le crepe ma di impreziosirle, valorizzarle, renderle uniche portandole a nuova vita. Tenendo a mente questa filosofia si è scelto, quale filo conduttore, un rivestimento che diventasse unico attraverso la propria imperfezione e casualità, ma mitigato da altri materiali caldi e “perfetti” che equilibrassero il proprio aspetto aspro e casuale al punto da renderlo armonico nell’insieme. E’ proprio grazie a questa armonia di colori e materiali che entrando nella abitazione si viene accolti da un’atmosfera ovattata in cui una carta da parati dai colori tenui nasconde l’armadiatura ed accompagna l’ospite sino alla zona living dove kintsugi diventa protagonista, insieme al parquet in rovere, in un gioco di diagonali e tonalità pastello che si equilibrano tra loro svelando a volte dettagli dorati, altre volte trame ornamentali. Volgendo lo sguardo alla zona notte, ci si ritrova avvolti dal colore dei tessuti degli imbottiti e delle stampe dei cuscini che come in un’antica via della seta guidano l’occhio verso la testata del letto in cui la stessa carta da parati utilizzata per l’ingresso viene illuminata attraverso due cerchi di luce. La luce che sino a quel momento illuminava senza farsi vedere solo in questa stanza diventa protagonista e fa risaltare i toni miele del parquet e del kintsugi che si nasconde alla vista per la presenza di una vetrata bronzata che separa la cabina armadio dalla zona notte. Infine si entra nei bagni dove il kintsugi prende spazio più prepotentemente forse perché in quel luogo più intimo e nascosto non ha vergogna di sé ed è proprio lì che acquisisce sicurezza e si colora diventando decoro all’interno delle zone doccia, come a ricordarci che le imperfezioni a volte è meglio metterle in mostra perché essere perfetti è impossibile e a far finta di esserlo sono capaci tutti.
There are wounds that can be visible to everyone on our skin, others that remain in the soul of each of us. Most of them heal, leaving only scars, but some do not heal, we carry them with us everywhere, and even if they have healed for some time, they become a distinctive trait, a “map” of our existence. Those “random and graceless” signs become part of us making us unique; with the same philosophy, the millennial Japanese culture used to repair ceramics for the tea ceremony according to the Kintsugi technique thanks to the use of urushi lacquer embellished with gold dust, trying no longer to hide the cracks but to embellish them , enhance them, make them unique by bringing them to new life. Keeping this philosophy in mind, the leitmotif was to choose a covering that would become unique through its own imperfection and randomness, but mitigated by other warm and “perfect” materials that would balance its harsh and casual appearance to the point of making it harmonious in the together. It is thanks to this harmony of colors and materials that upon entering the house one is greeted by a muffled atmosphere in which a soft- coloured wallpaper hides the wardrobe and accompanies the guest to the living area where kintsugi becomes the protagonist, together with the oak parquet, in a play of diagonals and pastel shades that balance each other, sometimes revealing golden details, other times ornamental textures. Turning our gaze to the sleeping area, we find ourselves enveloped in the color of the fabrics of the upholstered furniture and the prints of the cushions which, as in an ancient silk road, guide the eye towards the headboard of the bed where the same wallpaper used for the the entrance is illuminated by two circles of light. The light that until then illuminated without being seen only in this room becomes the protagonist and brings out the honey tones of the parquet and the kintsugi that is hidden from view by the presence of a bronzed glass that separates the walk-in closet from the sleeping area. Finally, you enter the bathrooms where the kintsugi takes up space more overwhelmingly perhaps because in that more intimate and hidden place it is not ashamed of itself and it is precisely there that it acquires self-confidence and becomes colored by becoming decoration inside the shower areas, as if to remind us that the imperfections sometimes it’s better to show them off because being perfect is impossible and everyone is capable of pretending to be.
